WSA World Championship Sprint & Mid-Distance Haidmühle, Germany 21st – 24th February 2019.


SDAS would like to invite its members with Registered Nordic Breed teams to apply to represent Scotland as part of the SDAS Team attending the  2019 WSA World Championship Sprint & Mid-Distance in Haidmühle/Germany.  The Championship will take place from 21 – 24 February 2019.

The team will be chosen by the committee from those who have supported the SDAS Championship series, have well controlled, competitive teams and on-snow experience.

Entry fees set by WSA are €120 for your first class entered, €50 for a second class. (Maximum two classes per competitor) this includes 1 voucher for the mushers’ dinner; additional vouchers for the mushers’ dinner can be bought separately.  This fee includes a non-refundable fee of €15 which will remain with the organizers to cover the costs they incurred should the championship need to be cancelled.     Juniors start free of charge.
The entry fee in GP pounds to pay SDAS is £115 or £47.50 reflect the euro / GBP exchange rate and to cover an equal share of the bank charges for the currency exchange.

Those wishing to be considered for the team must send an email prior to the 12th January stating your chosen classes to followed by paying your starting fees payable in full to SDAS: cheque posted to Mary Carter, Bowland Trails, Netheraird of Glasclune, Blairgowrie, Perthshire, PH10 6SF or by direct bank transfer (Details available on request) or via Paypal:

Fees must be received by 20th January to allow the international transfer to be completed in one transaction and therefore reduce the bank charges.

Late payment fees for entries/payments received after the payment deadline: £35 (applies also to Juniors)

At this stage, applying will not guarantee your place on the team. The allocation for each nation is yet to be decided depending on entry uptake.

From 11 January, All applicants for the SDAS team must also register their entry at and successful applicants will have their application confirmed by SDAS.

Changes to classes entered can be made by the team leader up until 6pm on the day before the first start.

• Stake out opens: 20 February
• Vet check: 20 & 21 February
• First team leader meeting: 21 February @ 14:00 hrs
• Opening ceremony: 21 February @ 19:00 hrs
• Further team leader meetings: 22, 23 and 24 February @ 8:00 hrs
• Start prologue Mid-Distance: 21 February @ 16:00 hrs
• First start first heat Sprint: 22 Februay @ 9:00 hrs
• Mushers’ dinner: 23 February @ 19:00 hrs
• Price giving ceremony: 24 February @ 16:30 hrs
